Job Description
The successful Interior Designer candidate focuses on development and refinement of design deliverables and actively participates in client design reviews and presentations. This position encourages a high degree of creativity in problem solving while balancing the application of company standards and templates. Project size, type, exposure and responsibility will vary, including renovation and new construction opportunities. This position will require a high level of coordination with others within a team environment, working with minimal supervision by an experienced Interior Designer or Architect. Project work may include all levels of design, including space planning, design development, detailed design and construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Works independently, with guidance from experienced Interior Designer or Architect to execute all phases of design.
- Generate design and construction models and documentation utilizing Revit or other BIM software.
- Conduct product research, evaluate materials and coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
- Generation and presentation of studies, visualization and reports to both internal and external clients.
- Effective communication of design concepts and ideas through sketching, visualization and documentation.
- Plan and organize work to meet project deadlines while ensuring conformance with applicable building codes.
- Participate and contribute during drawing reviews, coordination meetings and quality checks
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Accredited Professional Degree in Interior Design or Architecture (Bachelors or Masters), or Canadian / International equivalent
- Seven years professional experience
- NCIDQ Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
- Experience with visualization software (Enscape, SketchUp or similar programs)
- Flexibility for moderate travel in support of project-based or training activities
- Excellent verbal, written and graphic presentation skills
- LEED Accreditation, WELL Certification or similar sustainability credentials
- Experience with interior finish material and color selection and specifications
- Knowledge of, and/or experience with corporate office, workplace or advanced technology industry design projects, including laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or consumer products.
- Experience with selection of furniture systems and associated specifications
- Experience working in AEC industry preferred
