As a respected and well-established full service design firm, Moseley Architects’ 250+ professionals are located among six locations in the Southeast, including Richmond, Harrisonburg, Virginia Beach, and Warrenton in Virginia, and Charlotte and Raleigh in North Carolina.
Moseley Architects’ practice is devoted exclusively to providing design and construction administration services to public sector clients, focusing on buildings for higher education; K-12 education; government; as well as justice and public safety. To date, the firm has provided service to more than one 100 local governments, 85 public school districts, and 30 public universities and colleges. Moseley Architects serves communities that expect well-designed buildings, which effectively meet their needs and support their goals. As such, the firm has responded with schools and collegiate buildings that enhance the educational experience; with courthouse architecture that conveys the central importance of the law; with government buildings that effectively promote the delivery of services to citizens; and with law enforcement and correctional buildings that facilitate protecting the public’s safety. Additionally, Moseley Architects has emerged as a leader in sustainable and high performance design. This accomplishment reflects a strong commitment to green design at the core of the firm’s practice.
Company History
The Moseley Group (originally formed as Moseley Hening and Associates) was founded in 1969 to provide professional services in the fields of architecture, planning, interior design, and construction services. In 1992, The Moseley Group and McClintock, Modisett & Associates, originally founded in 1955, joined forces to provide unparalleled services and expertise in planning, programming, and designing school facilities. In 1997, The Moseley McClintock Group merged once again with I. V. Harris & Associates, Inc. The two firms merged to enhance their combined expertise in the design and construction of educational, governmental, and correctional facilities, to form Moseley Harris & McClintock. On January 23, 2002, our merge with the Wilkins Wood Mace Associates Architectural firm was finalized. On February 1, 2002, our name changed from Moseley Harris & McClintock to Moseley Architects.
Our professional staff gives us the ability to complete projects for both large and small clients. We offer a multi-service team of professionals and support personnel, which includes architects, engineers, construction administration project manager, interior designers, specifications writers, cost estimators, quality control specialists, and administrative support. Our firm’s broad base of skills and experience allows us to respond to our clients’ needs with comprehensive services.
Benefits
In 2006, the firm created Moseley University to provide staff with a platform for learning additional skills, which assist with his/her current position with the firm and pave the road to future advancement. The University offers a number of courses that are taken in conjunction with a pre-established development track plan. These courses are offered at the firm’s Richmond office and are conducted during business hours. In many cases, the course curriculum has been approved for continuing education units (CEUs) and intern development program (IDP) credits by the American Institute of Architects and NCARB, respectively. In addition to conducting onsite training for the IDP, the firm also covers the fees associated with becoming registered in the program and/or maintaining registration.
