Hastings Architecture Associates, LLC is a high energy design firm offering architecture, interior design and planning services to a diverse group of clients.
Our design philosophy is to approach every project with an obligation and desire to listen to our clients, understand the context of the project, recognize the impact of the project on the environment, maintain a healthy balance between design and budget, and ultimately develop a design that positively impacts the lives of the people that learn, own, work, live, or play in and around the project.

Hastings was founded on the belief that recruiting and then retaining the most talented and passionate team of design professionals would result in great design and client service.
This belief, coupled with a company culture that promotes collaboration, creativity and innovation, has served as the foundation for the firm’s growth and progressive thinking. The metrics for success at Hastings are: how well our team listens to our client during all stages of the project, how well the project integrates into its surroundings, and the overall impact of the project on the environment and the people that own, occupy and experience the project, learn, grow and advance as professionals.
The firm has developed specialized expertise over the past twenty-seven years in commercial, educational and community projects each with a philosophy of sustainability woven into them.
Hastings is organized around a Studio environment with an emphasis on open communication and teamwork. Each Studio manages their projects from conceptual design through the completion of construction. This continuous involvement in the project, combined with an emphasis on design and client service, results in successful projects and satisfied clients. And equally as important, our culture and organization ensures our staff opportunities to learn, grow and advance as professionals.
Company History
Hastings was founded in 1985 by Jim Hastings and the late Jeannie Hastings. The firm was founded on the belief that recruiting and then retaining the most talented and passionate team of design professionals would result in great design and client service. In 1999, Jim and Jeannie Hastings began transitioning the management and ownership of the company to two new partners, David Bailey and William Hastings. Since that time the firm has grown from 11 people to 39 full-time professionals focused on producing award-winning projects on time and within the client’s budget. Today the firm consists of four Principals, Jim Hastings, William Hastings, David Bailey and David Powell.
