Description
We are seeking a passionate Interior Designer - Workplace Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on administrative and workplace environments within school districts, municipal offices, and civic organizations, while also contributing to broader educational space initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with our account management team to understand client goals, recommend space planning strategies, and develop furniture and material solutions that enhance productivity, collaboration, and user experience. Projects may range from district administrative offices, staff workspaces, and civic departments to classrooms, libraries, and innovative learning environments.
Whether working independently or alongside architects and designers, your creativity, workplace design insight, and product knowledge will play a key role in delivering solutions that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities
Develop thoughtful and actionable design solutions based on client needs, leading space planning, layouts, and product specification.
Create and develop drawings using AutoCAD, CET, or similar design software.
Design administrative offices, workplace environments, and support spaces within school districts and municipal facilities.
Support the account management team with creative design thinking, visualizations, and multimedia client presentations.
Participate in client meetings, programming discussions, and site visits to ensure needs and feedback are captured and incorporated into design solutions.
Serve as a product and materials expert across multiple furniture manufacturers, supporting both the internal account team and A&D partners.
Collaborate with architects, designers, and facility leaders to ensure cohesive design solutions across workplace and educational environments.
Research and stay current on industry trends, workplace design strategies, and evolving educational environments.
Participate in industry organizations such as IIDA, EDmarket, and A4LE.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
Background in workplace, municipal, government, office interiors
2-5 years of interior design experience
Experience in AutoCAD, CET, InDesign and Project Matrix is a plus
Strong attention to detail and well-organized
Excellent time & project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects at a time
Excellent written & verbal communication skills for teamwork & client communication
Portfolio of work preferred
Knowledge of designing educational environments a plus, but not required
