Position Overview
The Account Executive (AE) is responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships, and overseeing the successful execution of furniture projects from concept through installation. This role requires a consultative approach, combining industry knowledge, design awareness, and strong project coordination skills to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including corporate, healthcare, education, and commercial accounts
Build and maintain long-term relationships to support repeat business and client satisfaction
Understand client goals, budgets, and project requirements to provide strategic guidance
Sales & Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, industry partnerships, and outreach
Respond to RFPs/RFQs and develop compelling proposals
Grow existing accounts by identifying additional opportunities and expanding scope of services
Meet or exceed assigned sales targets
Project Coordination & Execution
Lead projects through all phases, including programming, specification, ordering, and installation
Coordinate with internal teams (design, project management, procurement) and external partners (manufacturers, installers, designers)
Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion
Product Specification & Consultation
Provide expert guidance on furniture products, materials, and applications
Collaborate with designers and clients to develop solutions that align with aesthetic, functional, and budgetary goals
Stay current on product offerings, industry trends, and manufacturer updates
Quoting & Order Management
Prepare accurate and detailed quotes, including revisions and value engineering as needed
Oversee order placement, tracking, and issue resolution
Ensure accuracy and attention to detail throughout the order process
Post-Installation Support
Manage punch lists and resolve any post-installation issues
Ensure client satisfaction and maintain relationships for future opportunities
Qualifications
3–10+ years of experience in contract furniture, interior design, or a related industry
Strong understanding of furniture systems, finishes, and space planning concepts
Proven sales and client management experience
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; CRM Software
