- Interior Designer
Description
We are seeking a proactive and creative interior designer to become part of our Interior Design department in a commercial architecture firm.
In this role you will work closely with our 4-person Interior Design Department, with over 25 Architects, our marketing department, contractors, and clients. This is a full-time, in-person position at our office located in Farmington, CT.
QA+M specializes in a wide range of projects, including Education, Municipal, Multi-family Housing, Corporate & Healthcare.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Working directly with the other Interior Designers and Architects, managing your own projects (experience dependent)
Creating detailed documentation from programming to concept design, construction documents, CA and punchlist
Documentation of interior finish plans, interior elevations and millwork concepts and details
Site visits including existing documentation
Signage packages including design, plans and sign type sketches
Product research and specifications of materials, furnishings, lighting, fabric, and interior finishes
Maintaining product and interior finish product knowledge
Creation of furniture plans and schedules including budgets
Existing furniture inventory and documentation
Specification of FF&E packages in accordance with client requirements, preferred products, ADA, code and budget guidelines
Experience with FFE State Review Process is appreciated but not required
Managing communications and coordination between clients, consultants, reps, architects and contractors
Creation of presentation materials including digital finish boards, actual finish boards and renderings
Attend site visits, client meetings, presentations, interviews and internal meetings
Desired Skill Set:
Current version proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office, and Excel required
Current version proficiency in AutoCAD, Lumion, Photoshop, Bluebeam, InDesign preferred but not required
Strong design sense and professional communication and presentation skills
High attention to detail to ensure design intent along with technical accuracy
Self-motivated and responsible professional with opportunities for growth and advancement
Ability to manage multiple projects in various phases
Agility with project types and adaptable with deadlines
Understanding of furniture, millwork construction and details and related shop drawing review process
Must be energetic, proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized and eager to grow and learn
