Description

Furnished Quarters is seeking an Interior Designer to support the design and execution of furnished apartments across our New York City portfolio. This is a full-time, on-site role for a hands-on designer who enjoys seeing projects through from planning and layout to on-site execution in a hospitality-driven environment.

Working closely with the Executive Vice President of Design and cross-functional partners, the Interior Designer will:

• Support apartment design development, including space planning, color schemes, wallpaper coordination, and furniture and accessory sourcing
• Produce AutoCAD layouts and floor plans aligned with established standards and guidelines
• Coordinate furniture and accessory ordering and support inventory processes
• Manage assigned projects and timelines while ensuring apartments are fully furnished and move-in ready
• Conduct on-site walkthroughs to verify layouts, furniture placement, and overall quality

Additional responsibilities include:

• Supporting apartment upgrades, refreshes, and professional photography preparation
• Assisting with apartment deconstructs and identifying items for reuse, donation, or disposal
• Managing design-related service requests, including replacing broken furniture or sourcing additional items for occupied apartments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred
• 3 to 5 years of professional interior design experience
• Experience in hospitality, furnished apartments, residential, or related industries preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required
• Experience producing space plans and interior layouts
• Strong understanding of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) sourcing and coordination
• Experience managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams
• Experience with inventory, purchasing, or warehouse systems preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across design, operations, and vendor teams
• Comfortable with on-site work, frequent travel throughout New York City, and physical aspects of apartment setup
• Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend work as operational needs require
