KAID Design is a boutique interior design studio specializing in multifamily and condominium common-area renovations, including lobby, corridor, and amenity space transformations. Our firm focuses on delivering design solutions that elevate daily living while protecting long-term property value for residential buildings.
We are seeking a contract Technical Interior Designer / Production Designer to support our growing pipeline of multifamily renovation projects. This role focuses on the technical development and documentation of interior design projects, working closely with the firm’s design director to translate concepts into clear and coordinated construction documentation.
This is a freelance contract role intended for an experienced production-oriented designer who enjoys the technical side of the design process and thrives in a collaborative, flexible environment.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Develop interior design drawing sets including plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting layouts, and finish plans
- Prepare and maintain FF&E schedules and finish specifications
- Coordinate design documentation with architects, consultants, and project managers
- Translate design concepts into clear construction drawings suitable for contractor bidding and implementation
- Assist with preparation of presentation drawings and design documentation packages
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and organization
Ideal Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in commercial interior design, hospitality, or multifamily projects
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit (Revit preferred)
- Experience preparing construction drawing sets and coordinating with architects or engineers
- Familiarity with building codes, ADA considerations, and multifamily building requirements
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating remotely with the design team
